Workshop - Eye of the JAGUAR

“The Eye of the Jaguar”, is the space in which the works of master Román see the primitive light of magical and ancestral tales of our Latin American indigenous peoples. It is in this mythical, warm and colorful world that we can travel through Román’s themes which have gone through long hours of research and of transporting the viewer to the artist’s universe full of icons. Such place is, without any doubt, a portal of knowledge, wisdom and ancestral codes, in which the characters of his paintings float within the limits of the surface of this world of objects and conceptual meaning.
Without any doubt, his work is a reference for Latin American plastic arts; its depth, creativity, color and ancestral theme, evidences Román’s vital commitment to his art, which has been nourished throughout the years of a deep anthropological concept.
Román belongs to a group of artists who seek to renew figuration, making it full of a universal cosmovision.
In his sculptures the presence of popular culture and Andean myths can be noticed. The integration of magic realism can be appreciated, thus achieving the reconstruction of reminiscence with the ancestral.
